Senior Andres Caballeros was crowned Mr. NDNU in front of a packed lounge in St. Joe's on April 3.

Five of NDNU's finest young men competed in a series of events to win over the judges panel and the audience which voted for the winner.

The participants competed in a variety of events consisting of beach-wear, casual dress, a question and answer segment and, of course, the talent show.

Sophomores Conrad Clevlen and Marvin Villavicencio took home second and third place respectively.

Clevlen put forth a strong effort with a touching response to a question regarding if he had one day to live what would he do. His answer was to take his hero, his father, to Australia where he spent the fall term studying abroad.

But it was the smooth voice of Andres Caballeros who took home the gold when he performed live a version of Jack Johnson's The News on his acoustic guitar.

"It was a visually and emotionally stimulating event… I loved every minute of it," said junior Skyler Perez after the show. "It's great to see our community support this event. All of those guys are winners to me."

The participants were also asked to raise money to benefit the "Do Unto Others" charity foundation.

"Everyone came out with a positive attitude today. We raised some money and had a great time" said sophomore contestant Brian Scherman.
