It sucks to be a Bay Area sports fan.

Once one of the most dominating sports areas in the nation, the Bay Area has slowly become one of the worst places to be a sports fan in the entire country.

I guess it is good to have so many teams to cheer for, but the problem is, I can't remember the last time I had something to cheer about. All teams in the area, at times, show glimpses of brilliance or a draft pick that brings promise for the future. But when it comes down to it, the dominant Bay Area teams of the past are exactly where they are, in the past, and the teams of today just flat out suck, with two potential exceptions.

Let's look at football. Yeah, last place! At one point maybe the most dominating team in the league, the San Francisco 49ers, are absolutely horrible. They aren't even a shadow of their former self.

But wait there is hope, the 49ers great #1 draft pick, Alex Smith. Are you kidding me! What a joke, the guy has not done one good thing over the course of his three year career. Yes, he has had changes around him, but lets be serious, so has almost every other NFL quarterback in the league

I find it funny that if the Niners waited one more year to draft a quarterback their choices would have been, Matt Lienart, Vince Young or even Jay Cutler. Weird all those guys are well on their way to successful careers.

You want to talk about the Raiders? Now look at those champions. The only team that has lost more times than the 49ers, in the last three years, is guess who, The Raiders. What a joke, and in my opinion so are their fans. Let's get dressed up like idiots and drink till we puke and pretend we intimidate the other team. Sounds like fun. I do like their #1 draft pick and in time the team could be somewhat decent.

Baseball, America's past time, is definitely a thing of the past around here. Within the last 10 years the Giants did go to the World Series. But then reality set in, and they realized they just weren't that good. You can't build your team around a $20 million player who plays half the games and who is likely going to jail for taking steroids and lying to the government about it. Giants, all I have to say is you are going to be bad for a long time. Yes, you have good pitching but it doesn't matter because the bullpen stinks and the team can't score.
