Most students have already come to the realization that the city of Belmont and most of San Mateo County is not college-friendly. Being stuck in the hills of Belmont really limits the NDNU students to a minute amount of activities, especially on week nights.
Well, Tuesdays and Thursday nights starting at 9 p.m., an opportunity awaits you. Bowling at Bel Mateo Bowl will spark a boring life during the long week nights at NDNU and get you out of your little dorm room.
Younger crowds from around the area gather at the bowling alley with anticipation of a good time, starting at $13. This night includes three games of bowling, shoes and most importantly, for those of us who are 21, beers for only a dollar.
"I always have a good time and best part is its only 13 bucks for a night of fun," claims junior Jamie Zunini. "I mean I am not 21 yet, so the dollar beers don't concern me but it's still a good time and gives me a chance to hang out with a lot of my friends all at once."
Bowling is not as popular as it once was, but still can be beneficial to the life of a college student. This is an opportunity for students to add to their social lives.
A younger crowd gives students a chance to mingle and meet new people. The fun atmosphere at the bowling alley makes for a great and memorable experience.
Also, for all you hard core bowlers, there is not a better deal in the area.
Even though bowling is an activity of the past, it can still be a good time. If you and your friends decide to go bowling, please be safe. There are police looking for under-age drinking and people who drink and drive.
So if you are going to go to the alley please make sure you represent NDNU well, along with having a designated driver if need be.
Bel Mateo Bowl s located just off of El Camino on 43rd Avenue on the border of Belmont and San Mateo, only a couple miles from school.
