NDNU's golf teams have started out their spring season strong. Both the men and women have had top ten finishes and have performed well in 2007. Each team has five matches in the spring to finish out their season that began in the fall.

The men started the spring season with a sixth place finish at the CSU Bakersfield Spring Invitational. The match brought together 16 teams. After the first round of golf, the Argos turned in the second best score. The Argos lost some ground however, finishing 11 over par with a team score 875, only eight strokes behind the second place team.

Freshman Travis Peterson continued his strong play from the fall, finishing in a tie for 10th place. Junior Kory Storer was close behind, finshing in 15th place, just two shots behind Peterson.

The men built upon their strong performance in Bakersfield, taking second place in their own tournament. The men hosted the first annual NDNU Invitational with an 11 team field. The men finished three strokes behind Grand Canyon, shooting 889.

Storer led NDNU with a third place finish. Mike Prescott rounded out the top ten. Dean Henry also played well, finishing 20th. Henry also turned in the low round of the tournament, shooting a 64 in the second round. The men recorded a record 54 birdies in the tournament and Henry tied for the individual best 13.

The women have also started out the season well, starting off with a 12th place finish in the CSU San Marcos Cougar Invitational. The women improved their game taking first at the CSU East Bay Tournament.

The women's tournament at San Marcos was cut short due to rain. They were only able to play one round. The team was led by Brittany Carrera and Kelly Owen, finishing in a tie for 32nd.

The women had a successful weekend at the Cal State East Bay Tournament, taking a first place team finish. The Argos finished with an impressive 20 strokes in front of the second place team Dominican. The women used second place finishes from Carrera and Jamie Zunini to take the team title. Owen was close behind, taking eighth place.

The men and women hope to keep up their strong play. Each team has taken first place at a tournament this season and momentum on their side.
