The first two Lacrosse games have proven that the men mean business. The season opener not only began with the brand new field, but with a slashing win against UC Davis.
Coming out with a goal in the first few seconds Davis looked like they came ready to play as the Argo's led by after the first half. The Argo's were quick to return the favor, racking up ten unanswered goals in the second half. The boys dominated the rest of the game and pick up a victory with a final score of 15-4.
The Argos had little time to celebrate their first win as they faced their California rival, Whittier a week later.
On Saturday, Feb. 10 the Argos went head-to-head with the Poets of Whittier College. The game kept fans on the edge of their seats while they cheered on the men, huddling underneath their umbrellas.
With the score volleying back and forth throughout the game, the decision came down to the wire. The game was tied 13 all with 10 seconds left in the final quarter, when NDNU's Tim Campeau scored his lone goal. Campeau's goal would lead the Argos to victory with only three seconds left on the clock.
Campeau ended the day with four assists and a game winning goal. Cam Foss racked up four goals, while his teammates Mark Scherman, Jessie Painter and Keegan Davidson had two goals each. Justin Der added one goal and three assists and Jon Black scored once and had two assists. Goaile Mike Ferrari earned the win once again by making 11 saves. Nick Ries had a game high seven groundballs for the Argos.
Saturday, Feb. 24, the Argo's tackle their biggest challenge yet facing off with 2005's National Champions New York Tech. The game starts at 1 p.m. at Koret Field.
