Rumor Has It...

The semester has come and gone and, all the while, construction on the athletic field hasn't ceased. Many are waiting with bated breath as the completion date of the field draws closer. The dedication is scheduled to take place on Feb. 3 before the first lacrosse game of the year against UC Davis.
To go along with the brand, spanking new turf field, which NDNU will proudly show off, a generous donor has decided to give over 30 new pine trees to be placed on the top of the berm along Ralston. These trees are meant to offset the loss of the eucalyptus trees that were cut down when construction first began, and they should muffle noise on the field. . .
Speaking of new additions to the NDNU community, it seems there is a sexually transmitted disease, specifically gonorrhea, that is spreading among the student population, and some students are trying to raise awareness to protect other students from contracting the disease.
Maybe it is time students take seriously MTV's warning to get checked for STDs and always practice safe sex. In other words, if you're not going to abstain from sex, then please use condoms. Every student is responsible to protect themselves, their health and their partners from STDs. . .
Another serious problem on campus seems to be vandalism - although there is apparently a difference of opinion when it comes to the gravity of this issue.
"I have never seen the vandalism this bad in all of my 30 years here at NDNU," said Dave Mefford, chief of Public Safety. "It is a real problem that should be addressed."
However, it seems that President John Oblak disagrees. "I've been to a lot of campuses around the country, and I think that we actually have a smaller problem with vandalism on this campus," said Oblak.
"The problem is that we are a smaller community so it hits our small community harder.
Vandalism is always a problem and if it is not dealt with appropriately, it will continue to cost the school and the students, money. If money was spent on other projects or budgeted for other purposes other than cleaning up after drunken, careless and inconsiderate people, maybe NDNU would be in a much better financial state than it is in.
Maybe we might already have a turf field.

You're right.
ALL THE FIELD ISSUES ARE DUE TO THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR'S INCOMPETENCE.....WITH MORE ISSUES TO COME TO FRUITION!!
