Dear Athena,
I've been dating a guy here on campus since the beginning of school. Everything has been going great in the relationship, and we both like each other a lot.
However with the holidays coming I'm beginning to get stressed out. He wants me to come home with him for Thanksgiving and meet his family, but I really want to go back to my house and have family time.
What do I tell him. It will break his heart?

You need to do what is best for you and go home to be with your family. Just talk to him and be honest with him.
Your relationship is very baby and I don't think that meeting the family this early is a good idea. If he does get upset that you won't be there with his family, then he isn't worth it anyway.
If he does like you, then he'll understand how important family is to you.

I hate to be the one to break it to you but if you feel like you are able to get those things with out your parents than you should be able to face them with the decisions that you have made.
