The fundraiser took place on Nov. 10 in the Ralston Hall Ballroom.
Debra Lambert, director of vocal music, introduced the Vocal Performance class, which included 25 singers, freshmen through graduate students. Anna Khaydarova accompanied the singers on piano.
Alexandra Jerinic kick-launched the concert with "Quando m'en vo." Dressed in a beautiful purple gown, Jerinic gave an impressive vocal performance and put on a delightful show for the audience.
Another performer in the lineup was Marisol Urbano, who performed "O Mio Babbino Caro." Urbano was stunning, and even though she sang in a foreign language, she seemed to draw the audience into the story behind the song with her vocal ability and emotional outreach. Urbano received an enthusiastic applause.
Heidi Olson sang "Batti, batti, o bel Masetto" from "Don Giovanni" with a flirty playfulness and demeanor to portray the character in the song. She got a few chuckles out of the audience and a roaring response to her outstanding vocal capability.
All of the singers were unique, but Daniel Pias really lit up the program with his performance of the Hawaiian song, "Nani' Nu'uanu." Pias gave a soft and beautiful delivery which generated screams of applause from the crowd.
Michael Najar closed the first half of the show with his unforgettable performance of "Shiksa Goddess" from "The Last Five Years." The comic song, including ridiculous descriptions, curse words and all, sent the audience into tears of laughter.
After everyone took a small intermission and enjoyed the provided refreshments, Marilyn Pratt brought people back into the concert on a "high note," or many high notes to be exact. Her performance was theatrical and impressive, showing off incredible vocal range.
Justin Basl gave a magical and charismatic performance of "And a Nightingale Sang in Barkeley Square."
In an elegant black dress and sparkling jewelry, Francesca Camus gave a performance that mirrored her attire: elegant and sparkling. Camus sang "Stars and the Moon."
A memorable performance was made by Adia Griffith, who sang "God Bless the Child" by Arthur Herzog Jur and Billie Holliday.
Justin Taylor Nixon and Julia Hosack closed the night's concert with a duet of "All the Wasted Time" from "Parade."
